Niva Velassaru Maldives

We had a truly unforgettable stay at Velassaru Maldives. My family and I had a wonderful time from start to finish. The resort is absolutely stunning — surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and a peaceful atmosphere that made us feel completely relaxed. Everything was spotless, the food was incredibly delicious, and the staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. Their hospitality made our experience even more special. Velassaru exceeded all our expectations in every way. It’s the perfect destination for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy luxury in the heart of nature. Highly recommended!

Wow. I am lost for words. The hotel and the island are so amazing. You just relax and enjoy, everything else is taken care by the amazing staff. The nature on the island is amazing. The beaches are amazing. Unlike some other islands in the Maldives, here you can comfortably swim even during low tide. You can walk everywhere barefoot. Villas are nicely furnished. You are given clean beach towels every day. There are free sunbeds scattered all across the island. Large bottles of water are provided every day by the staff. Food is very nice. Cannot wait to come back again.

We stayed at Velassaru Maldives during the first week of August 2025, enjoying 6 nights of relaxation and luxury on this beautiful island resort. The resort is located just 30 minutes by speedboat from Malé International Airport, making the transfer quick and hassle-free. Velassaru is set on a small, private island where it is the only resort, creating an exclusive and peaceful atmosphere. The island is well-maintained, lush, and never felt overcrowded. There are two bars on the island—great for enjoying a drink with ocean views—and a main international restaurant that serves buffet meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at scheduled times. In the evening, two specialty restaurants open, offering à la carte options for a more upscale dining experience. Our 6-night stay was divided into two villa categories: • 3 nights in a Beach Villa with Private Pool: Set among greenery with direct beach access, this villa was private, elegant, and perfect for relaxation. • 3 nights in a Water Villa with Private Pool: Offering sweeping views of the ocean and a sense of seclusion, it was luxurious—though somewhat impacted by the weather. The resort cleans the rooms twice daily, once in the morning and again in the evening, which kept everything fresh and spotless throughout our stay. Overall, we rate our experience a 9 out of 10. The only drawback was during the last 3 nights in the Water Villa, where windy weather made it difficult to fully enjoy the outdoor deck and pool. Since the private pools are not heated, it felt too cold to swim during those breezy evenings. In conclusion, the enjoyment of a holiday in August depends heavily on the weather—especially the wind. High winds can limit or even prevent many sea activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, or boat excursions. For those planning a stay during this time of year, it’s worth keeping in mind that weather conditions may affect your overall experience. Despite this, Velassaru remains a fantastic destination that blends luxury, service, and natural beauty. We would happily return—though perhaps during a calmer season for even more enjoyment.
