I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed extremely comfortable! Staff very friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety. A great experience 😉
The hotel was the venue for a conference. The conference facilities are very good. The rooftop bar and spar are great. The hotel however, needs a lot of work. The rooms are large and comfy with good amenities, but air cons didn't work (not just in one room) and the bottled drinking water was not replaced, we asked and had to buy our own in a nearby supermarket. The food was sadly not good. we were sick for 24 hours. The lifts were a nightmare, could be waiting for 10 or more minutes. The staff were friendly enough but expected more assistance for this price.
From all the hotels I have stayed to in Tàna, Novotel has the best rooms and amenities. However, I give 3 stars in overall because I was welcomed and looked indifferently from all other guests, especially compared to the non-Malagasy guests. I stayed there for a couple of nights and every time I entered the lobby, a staff followed me and asked my room number, while they are many random foreigners coming inside the front door with me. Maybe it is because it is the only 5 stars hotel in Madagascar and they are not used to see their own people staying there? Or it could be just coming from those few staff who stopped me? I don’t know but something needs to be fixed here!
