We stayed at the Novotel for 3 nights after a disappointing experience at another resort—and honestly, we wished we had booked all 6 nights here instead. While the building is older and could use a bit of maintenance, everything else more than made up for it. The facilities were great—we enjoyed tennis, pool, the golf course and the gym, all of which were in excellent condition. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent, though the restaurant’s regular menu could use some improvement. Most of all, the staff were absolutely wonderful—so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They truly made our stay special.
Lovely staff. Comfy beds and rooms. Fabulous breakfast, nice restaurant, and pool. Walking distance to nearby shops and places to eat. Easy to taxi to airport or other shops or restaurants. I love the history of this hotel. We stayed here 30 years ago with our family as teenagers and now came back to meet up again as adult siblings and partners with grownup children. Stayed a full week here and loved it. The beauty spa, the views of mountains, the gardens and again the people are most delightful. This is real fiji, not a distant expensive fake resort hotel. Exactly what we wanted. We will return again. Thanks so much!
The hotel is in serious need of a complete renovation. The floors are worn out, furniture and fittings are outdated and poorly maintained, and the cleanliness is lacking — I even found a moth in the bathroom and frogs around the property. There’s very limited staff, though the few present are friendly and helpful. Basic amenities like body lotion, conditioner, toothbrush, and toothpaste were not provided. Breakfast was underwhelming with the same limited options every day, which became monotonous. Lunch and dinner were bland and significantly overpriced compared to other places in Fiji. Even the coffee at breakfast was watered down with no option for a decent barista-made coffee. Aside from the pleasant staff and the good location, there’s nothing remarkable about the hotel. The flooring is coming apart, the pool is very basic — similar to what you’d find in a residential complex — and there are no on-site activities offered. Overall, it feels more like a basic motel than a resort. I would recommend exploring other accommodations. Felt like we wasted our money.
