Great location and even better service. Everyone in this hotel is beyond nice—from the cleaning staff to those in the counter. It’s the best and most community-driven hotel in Benin by far.
The food isn’t very good and completely over priced, the drinks are the most expensive I’ve seen in Benin. I’d highly recommend leaving the hotel if you want to eat or drink anything. The pool is absolutely lovely though! Some of the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful but some of them were dismissive and rude.
1. The receptionist was highly unprofessional, especially during checkout – acting slowly, being arrogant, and even showing impatience towards guests. At least that was my experience. After checking out, I moved to Sofitel. Even though both belong to the Accor group, the receptionists at Sofitel are far more professional than those at Novotel. It is suggested that the hotel should train its reception staff to respect guests and improve efficiency. 2. The fire alarm suddenly went off at midnight, yet there was no smoke or fire at all. The receptionist merely said it was a technical glitch. This is completely ridiculous.
