The Novotel Sihanoukville Holiday Resort is a fantastic choice for both leisure and family travelers looking for comfort by the coast. The resort has a fresh, modern design with spacious rooms that are well-appointed, clean, and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Many rooms offer beautiful sea views, making mornings and evenings especially enjoyable. The pool area is a real highlight – large, well-maintained, and perfect for both kids and adults. There are plenty of sun loungers, and the atmosphere is calm and refreshing. The resort also has great facilities, including a gym and wellness options, ensuring there’s always something to do even if you’re not heading out. Dining at the hotel is a pleasure. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of both local and international options, all fresh and delicious, though the variety could be improved to make it even better. The restaurant staff are friendly and attentive, and the service throughout the property is warm and professional, making you feel genuinely welcomed. Location-wise, the resort strikes a nice balance – it’s close enough to explore Sihanoukville but also tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet. It’s an excellent base whether you want to relax by the pool, head to the beach, or take day trips to nearby islands. Overall, Novotel Sihanoukville Holiday Resort delivers on comfort, hospitality, and relaxation. It’s a wonderful place to unwind, and I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Sihanoukville.
Due to many constructions going on in the area, there was a lot of noise pollution. Also it is surrounded by a bunch of Chinese casinos and hotels including Chinese nationals; this made the atmosphere less than desirable. The hotel staff were friendly but seem flustered at times when it got busy. The room was great, I got the sea view room but be prepared to pay a premium for it.
I think the French abandoned the hotel. Novotel Sihanoukville is no longer what it used to be. It feels like it has been taken over by someone else—maybe even the neighbors—because the service, cleanliness, and overall experience have completely collapsed. The service was horrible. At the pool, the smell of sewage was unbearable and made it impossible to enjoy the area. The buffet food was mediocre, clearly not fresh, and in very short supply. It felt more like a school canteen than a four-star hotel restaurant. Housekeeping was a joke. When we asked for the room to be cleaned, they just made the bed—no sheet change, no proper cleaning. That’s not just poor service, it’s disrespectful to paying guests. For a hotel that claims to be four stars, this is completely unacceptable. Shame!
