Ocean Paradise Resort & Spa Zanzibar

We had a wonderful time at Ocean Paradise. We spent 9 nights there and were extremely happy with the place - the pictures don't do it justice. The staff are all super friendly, and happy to help. Dinner is on a weekly rotation, and each day there's absolutely loads of choices, there's always salads, and a grilled section, plus a pasta section for if your kids want something more simple. Room service is fantastic, beds have mosquito nets all around, and they spray for mosquitoes daily too. The pool is great for adults, and there's an enclosed shallow pool for under 5s that is about 40cm deep to play in safely - our kids used it heavily and we're very happy. Locals on the sea front are friendly but not pushy, as a result we were happy to engage. There's a medical centre 2 minutes drive down the main road should you need it. Would easily recommend to anyone, would love to go back there one day!

We loved this hotel. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful and they really made the holiday special. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom. The room was cleaned once a day and dressed beautifully each time and in the evening it was sprayed for mosquitoes and the mosquito nets were pulled out and the beds made again - this was above and beyond! We stayed half board and the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet had a detox drink section where healthy detox drinks were made to order while you waited. The omelette station was great and it had pancakes and waffles too. The selection of fruit was amazing and constantly being cut fresh and topped up regularly. There was plenty of choice. The dinner buffet was one of the best I have had at a hotel. Each night was themed and there was usually a barbecue station, pasta station, salad station and much more. We had plenty of seafood on ocean night including large prawns, crabs, fish and much more. It seemed they did not spare any expense. We found the food tasty although not very spicy but this was not a problem. The dessert section was great too, lovely ice cream (my favourite was the espresso), fruit, and plenty of other sweets. The beach was beautiful, sand was like powder and sea so blue. You have to check the board for the tide as this can vary. The hotel has beautiful gardens with lots of palm trees. The lobby is spacious and everywhere felt clean. My only criticism was that the layout was strange, the route to dinner was up and down various flights of steps. So if mobility is an issue this could be a problem. I did see a golf buggy, so maybe this could be booked for those who struggle with climbing many steps. Overall we had a fabulous time.

Ocean Paradise is a stunning beach-facing property that's perfect for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a peaceful vacation without having to leave the hotel. One of the highlights for me was the variety of movies and activities planned throughout the day — there's always something to look forward to. The complimentary tea served in the evenings added such a lovely touch to the overall experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I especially loved how they celebrate special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries — it truly made the stay feel personal and memorable. We also booked a dolphin tour through the hotel, and it was a one-of-a-kind experience that I’ll never forget. The views from the rooms are breathtaking, and both the beach and pool areas were beautiful and well-maintained. The evening movie screenings under the stars were a delightful way to end the day. I would absolutely love to return with my family and highly recommend Ocean Paradise to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay by the ocean.
