Orient Star Khiva Hotel Madrasah Muhammad Aminkhan 1855 in UNESCO World Heritage Site

Really unusual and interesting hotel that used to be a Madras. Rooms were old and as a result certain things reflected that, like showers that were less than ideal. Amazing location, great courtyard, and good breakfast.

Such and amaizing place to stay in magical city of Khiva, our Host Ildham and his colleague (forgot her name) was having an amazing, welcoming and helpful personality. Hotel is one of the Madrasah an actual historic site. Staying there was like literally staying in history.. Highly recommend 👌 7 stars from my end ✨️

Super location and a historic building. However I have mixed feelings. Rooms - are historic meaning WiFi does not work. We had two rooms booked and in one there’s no air con (despite being advertised and paid for). It was the two bedroom suite and mean our daughter (and me on second night) could not sleep. Do NOT book two bedroom suite. It is twice the price of en-suite room without a second bathroom and no air con in second room. Better to have separate rooms for same price. Receptoon had difficulty booking anything other than most expensive taxis and their credit card machine did not work, so had to find the cash. (We paid the bill the night before leaving due to the early start). Breakfast was good selection and great addition except you had to pay for additional coffee (which was very good). Bar prices also exceedingly expensive. Great location but probably best to spend one night there.
