I havent done any hotels rating since the majority of my reviews are focused on foods, and I just stat at APA hotel mostly or any other chained hotels. When I check in the front staff was nice and used the translator to ensure I understood everything and thats very nice of her, most of the time I just try to explain stuffs with my broken Japanese and google translate, but they got one themselves, definitely foreigners friendly. The room was clean, got no shower cause they have a public bath, I didnt go to the family bath but the public one was nice. Only downside might be the wall is a bit thin so if someone walked outside your room you could hear it but its fine for me.
Booked on the wrong month and fortunately for me, there was vacancy. Stayed one night in a single twin room, no meal plan. Less then 5 mins walk from Tottori Station to the hotel. The garden is over 100yrs old, it looks like there was an addition recently done. The breezeway, corridor is massively wide with views of the garden. Separate men and women baths and an extra exclusive, FCFS, private smaller bath available for use, great for family or if you’re shy. There’s a hot and cold water fountain out in the corridor. Some rooms are dated but all the amenities are there and super clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. I loved the natural hot spring water, super warm which is great! The views of the garden was very relaxing. I had the best nights sleep ever. Highly recommend to my family and friends when visiting Totorri.
This is a Japanese onsen ryokan so everyone need to go to public bath. We had a Japanese style room without meals and we enjoyed our stay very much. The interiors seem recently re-furnished and we really like the decoration style. The onsen is facing the garden and the temperature is also nice. The hotel is a few minutes walk from train station, plus the service is also considerate. In general, we feel this stay is very satisfying.
