Amazing in every way From the beginning as soon as we got there there were happy welcoming staff to great is and help us find our way through this beautiful expansive resort, to even grounds workers helping us spot Sloths. Even if you looked a little lost or were wondering which way to go, there was a person noticing and coming to your help. This was not at all intrusive. It was so helpful. The grounds are so bra and so large and the design is so complicated that you can get lost going from your room to one of the pools. Can’t say enough about how nice and accommodating everyone was. The grounds are just gorgeous. First night we saw so many animals - probably even more than our tour the next day in Manuel Antonio Park. Monkeys in our balcony, sloths on the Monkey Trail , Howler monkeys too, so much beauty. Food was great too. They also booked us a mangrove tour that was an amazing experience. Can’t say enough good things about this resort. All the people made this experience so worth while plus the location can’t be any better. Highly recommend

A Relaxing Getaway Surrounded by Nature Our stay at Parador Hotel was a truly memorable experience, blending relaxation with the beauty of Costa Rica’s incredible wildlife. The location is absolutely unbeatable — perched above the ocean with lush jungle surroundings, we were treated daily to the sight of monkeys marching along the railings and colorful birds just outside our room. It felt like we were in the heart of a nature documentary! Service throughout the hotel was attentive and professional, though at times we felt it lacked a bit of the personalized touch one might expect from a 5-star property. That said, one standout moment was our waiter who went above and beyond to make my daughter’s 16th birthday special — surprising her with a cake and a serenade by the resident musician. It was a beautiful, heartfelt gesture that we’ll never forget. Breakfasts were generous and varied, with a nice selection of hot items and a smoothie bar. However, we felt the quality of the fruits could have been better, especially considering the abundance of fresh tropical produce in Costa Rica. The rooms, while clean and comfortable, were a bit dated and could benefit from some refreshing. Still, the incredible views and peaceful atmosphere more than made up for it. The pools were fantastic, offering panoramic ocean views and a tranquil setting to unwind. One drawback was the lack of direct beach access, which was a bit disappointing. However, the hotel provides a convenient complimentary shuttle to Manuel Antonio’s stunning beaches — a perfect solution that allowed us to enjoy the sand and surf without hassle. All in all, Parador Hotel delivered a wonderful and relaxing stay with excellent amenities, good food, and unforgettable wildlife encounters. With just a bit more attention to detail, it could easily reach its full 5-star potential.

While this is said to be a 5 star resort, i think it's more like a 4 at best. The staff at this resort are the main reason for the higher rating. They were friendly, professional, and often made sure to smile and wave at my young children who loved the attention. The shuttle drivers were also very accomodating, dropping us off anywhere along the route. Accomodations wise, we stayed in the tropical room which was nothing fancy (but clean) and our windows were facing the ongoing construction. The location of the resort itself, while beautiful because of the views from the cliff, was very hard to get to since it is at the end of a steep road, often only wide enough for a single lane of traffic. Unfortunately because of the steepness of the road, walking to outside restaurants was not an option and we had to take the shuttle if we wanted to. There are lots of good restaurants around the area. Even the restaurant on the resort is pretty good but the options get repetitive quickly if you're staying multiple days and it can be pretty expensive for what you get. The amenities were nice-a few pools, a kids play room for younger children, and a game room with a pool table and video games for older children and up. All in all, it was a nice experience because of the staff and being able to see sloths and monkeys outside the resort, but I would think twice about coming back because of the location and what you get for the price.
