I’m not sure why the hotel has a good rating on Booking. The hotel is old and outdated. There is very little parking available. The rooms are small and simple. The beds are narrow and uncomfortable. The bathrooms are small and the shower glass only covers half the shower. The windows are small and don’t seal so you can hear outside noise. There is no balcony. The pool doesn’t open till May even though it’s warm enough to swim from April. There is no gym and no spa. Over the Passover holiday the pool should be open when there are so many guests. Breakfast is decent and probably the only good thing about the hotel.
Unfortunately Prima Galil is a scam. The service sucks, noise is the anthem of the hotel. Let me list all the issues: 1. Paper thin walls. Room to room and room to outside. You hear everything your neighbor is doing, absolutely everything. 2. Unprofessional staff members that won’t give you even water if asked for it. 3. Broken elevator system that is a complete nightmare, and be prepared to go to the lobby at least three times a day to get your room card fixed. As their digital lock system was probably coded by a 5-year old. 4. Bland, tasteless, low variety food. Don’t understand all the hype around it. 5. No parking space at the hotel, so good luck finding something around while carrying your bags. Also the staff won’t help you either. 6. Cleanliness & Functionality. At the beginning you might think that is fairly clean. But every corner on the room is completely filthy and the shower structure it’s just a joke. The main shower head doesn’t work properly, water shoots sideways instead of downstream (they way every shower in the world works) which causes get the bathroom floor entirely wet. 7. we booked this hotel specifically for the pool and it’s closed. IN JUNE. Their excuse is that there’s no lifeguard and so that they can leave it always closed. 8. Lastly, the location. If you don’t have a car, well then have fun walking 30 minutes to the Kinneret every time. From the pictures you might think otherwise. Overall, I burned €200 per room. Left very disappointed.
This hotel made me remember why I should always book an Airbnb instead of hotels. Unfortunately Prima Galil is the opposite of relaxing or enjoying your vacations. Too much noise as the walls are paper thin between rooms, if you have a loud neighbor, that’s it, no sleep. Key cards and elevators are a mess, the cards can stop working up to 3 times in a single day. The shower structure is badly constructed and will cause your floor to flood no matter how much you try not to, plus the main shower-head is broken. No parking in the hotel makes this even more difficult, they reserve it for other people but not for guests, which is crazy. I tried to let some things slide, but there’s just too many things that feel wrong in a hotel that charges you €200 per room… Left very disappointed.
