Pura Vida Hotel

Berni and Nhi have hosted us at Pura Vida for decades. We have stayed in all the beautiful, comfortable casitas and have watched upgrades and redesigns happening as they keep everything in top condition. The beautiful grounds and mountain views are an excellent intro to Costa Rica for those just landing at the nearby international airport. Breakfast always features a wonderful variety of fruits and excellent coffee and they give us a nice to-go bag when we have very early departures. We come to Costa Rica to visit our family. Visits aren't complete without a stop at Pura Vida to see Berni and Nhi.

From a costarican Pura Vida to another; Pura Vida Hotel in Alajuela. (make sure to tell the taxi, Tuetal.) Still marveling at having been there in person, for about 24hrs so unexpectedly... Owners BerNhi, (Berni & Nhi) are a FUNtástic foreign dynamic duo! The hotel is very near the Airport, however you will be pleasantly surprised to find this true Oasis, with a botanical garden, lots of nature's little melodies, such an awesome hospitality and a great Spirit to Serve by all the staff. I felt it's an amazing way to introduce you to Costa Rica, so my recomendation is that you make Hotel Pura Vida the first stop when visiting our beautiful little country, and why not your last stop as well. 🇨🇷✨✌️

Great hotel! Beautiful and spacious rooms in relaxed and quiet garden. I loved walking around and reading the labeled signs about the plants and watching the birds. Bernie was super helpful and we appreciated his advice on a local hike to Laguna Hula. For breakfast we tried the praying hands banana that grows in his garden and they were fabulous. Slept great with a cool breeze and comfortable beds. We appreciated the to go breakfast for our 4am airport drive. We plan to stay at Pura Vida the next time we travel to Costa Rica.
