Radisson Blu Hotel Amsterdam City Center

We booked two double rooms; 251 had one window and no real view, just the wall of the next building (hence the four stars); 253 had two windows and partial view to the canal, much better! The area is very quiet, the mattress and pillows very comfortable. The staff were very helpful.

So expensive. I know hotels in Amsterdam are pricey, but the value just wasn’t there for what we paid. Probably shouldn’t have booked in advance, room rates were cheaper when we arrived. Canal view rooms are accessed via a large tunnel under the road. Bathroom was old. Shower over very narrow bathtub. Our air conditioning also turned off by itself overnight. On site parking is useful. Breakfast was very good. Unlikely we’ll stay here again unless we can get much better pricing.

Had an awful experience with the front desk by a member of staff called Gonzalo. we came to the hotel early and the first member of staff informed us the room would be ready in 1 hour, Giorgia was very polite, friendly and helpful. We returned 1 and a half hours later to be completely dismissed by this next member of staff. Blankly informed us we are early for check in and would not even consider. He was outright rude and should not be dealing with customers. His sloppy appearance matched his attitude towards us. Unfortunately this experience has brought the overall rating down. Do better!
