I had a pleasant stay at Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel, Freetown. The location is unbeatable, right by the ocean with a calm, clean and secure atmosphere. The staff were courteous and helpful, always ready to assist. My room was clean and comfortable, though the Wi-Fi could be more stable for business use. The food was generally good, with a decent variety, and I enjoyed the poolside ambiance. A few service touch points could be improved for efficiency, but overall, it’s a solid choice for both business and leisure travelers visiting Freetown.
I enjoyed my stay in the beautiful hotel. Every aspect of my stay was awesome it was a team business group and it nice to see our local food here. The room is perfectly clean each day and loby staff are very supportive. We promise to give a review of the service. We will be back soon.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR... STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. I lived in Salone for 2.5 years and everyone I knew who'd stayed here was disappointed. I had little choice but to stay here last minute recently for 3 nights. It cost £500 / $650 and I too was extremely disappointed. Service was cold, unfriendly and bordering on rude. We arrived at 2000 (5 hours after check in) and our room wasn't ready. They didn't even say 'Welcome' or smile. At the restaurant we ordered 2 Mutzigs beers. They didn't have any, so we ordered 2 Star beers. After finishing them we ordered 2 more and they didn't have any. We ordered a pepperoni pizza. They didn't have any. We ordered chips - they were luke warm and stale. We didn't order local dishes because the prices were extortionate so we shared a pizza. It was basic. The following day at the pool we ordered 2 cocktails and a large water... they didn't come after 30+ mins. I went inside to ask again. After 20 mins water came. No cocktails. The pool level is below the filter level so a layer of scum is on the top all the time. Yuck. Breakfast selection was adequate but not good in quality. The breads were every day stale and dry. The fruit was good, hot items were barely warm and many things so greasy. The dark restaurant was very hot, dimly lit and no atmosphere. The central AC doesn't work so they have just one tower AC plugged in for the entire room. Stupidly enough it's right next to / blowing on to the hot food - part of the reason why the hot food isn't hot surely. Restaurant staff unfriendly as everywhere else in the hotel (except the lovely cleaning staff). Our room was old, tired and damp. Not what I expect for $200+ per night. When the power goes off the emergency light comes on in the rooms and wakes you up multiple times per night. Even with AC set to 20°C it never goes below 23°C even when left on all day. The shower is well designed. Water pressure good when on cold but weak when on hot. However twice there was zero hot water. Again, for $200+ per night you expect hot water. Would not return and would not recommend. The following week we paid the extra and stayed around the corner at The Lead Hotel - worth the extra money.
