The hours for the pool and sauna are a little bizarre. The pool is open from 8 am to 3 pm and the sauna is open from 3 pm to 9 pm. No microwave in the rooms and no easy way to warm up leftovers if you have any. No ice machines, but you can get ice from the bar or restaurant. I made the mistake of taking off a small silver ring and leaving it in the hotel room for the day when we went out. It was missing from the room when we returned, so I am figuring one of the housekeepers pocketed it. No safe in the room, but I am kicking myself for leaving any jewelry out to be taken, even if it isn't an expensive piece. The location is excellent. The breakfast buffet is decent. Great views from our room. There is a game room in the basement with a billiard table (costs 3Eu).
Very old hotel, not renovated for long time. The ugliest building in Beitostølen. We had the very hot weather and it felt like in an oven as you can only open one small window and there is no AC. Bathroom was not very clean and it needs serious upgrade. Note if you travel with a dog you will be placed in a 1st floor as dogs are not allowed in other places. Housekeeping did not do a good job, when we asked for cleaning they didn’t even touch the bathroom . Breakfast was good and the service (polish staff) was very accommodating and helpful. Even when we asked for extra ice for coffee they always make it work and even asked on their own other day if we still want it. They were cleaning tables very fast and making sure everything is available till the end of breakfast.
We stayed in a cottage at the resort one summer night. Gladly our plan was to arrive late, shower, sleep and leave early. On arrival the entire cottage smelled bad, the bedrooms were musty, the bathroom stank of body odour and the kitchen/livingroom just smelled funky. We aired the rooms, cleaned, made coffee and warm rolls before we left. Fortunate people that arrived after us.
