Lovely hotel and space - and a great location. Friendly staff, a good gym, and amazing breakfast - with a view! Since we were interested in the old city and not the resort area, this was perfect for us.
This hotel is stuck in the past. Outdated rooms, chipped doors, yellowed switches, and a bathroom straight from the 80s. Zero noise isolation — I now know my neighbors better than some relatives. Every sound, every flush, every… activity. Service doesn’t exist. I called reception four times — no one ever came. Spa? Just one jacuzzi and a bunch of screaming kids. Gym is basic at best. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. Staff struggle with English, which makes any request a guessing game. Only real 5-star thing here is the location and the logo. The rest feels like a tired 3-star hotel in disguise.
The place is beyond dated. If you want a time machine to the 80's for your room than this is your place. It's not comfortable. And, their website isn't upfront about the cost of the room. It's criminal. $154 at booking on the Radisson site turns into $220 because of taxes and service fees. The add on taxes, etc. are extreme. The bed was old (lumpy) and the sheets were horrible. The upside is the breakfast. The people running it are top notch. They do a beautiful job. It's as if they are two different locational experiences...1) old tired overpriced room and 2) a fantastic crew for breakfast in the coolest venue ever. The views from the breakfast room are the best of Montevideo. My 2 star rating is not a reflection on the great employees that are amazing but on the trickery on their website pricing for an old crappy dated room.
