Ramada Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Noumea

When travelling, we prefer apartment hotel over hotel as it's more family friendly. We stayed 2 weeks in a 2-bedroom 1-bathroom apartment. - Everything was spacious & reasonably clean - There was a washer (no dryer) & it's one of the reasons we went for it - Two balconies, one with seaview - Good Internet with generous 30G/day allowance - Perfect location within walking distance to beach, restaurants, supermarkets, car rentals, etc - Very nice, friendly & helpful staff - Functional gym with some old equipment & weights - Swimming pool was OK For the not too positive side: - Dated apartment in need of a renovation - Lighting throughout the apartment was dim, not sufficient to do work or reading - Bathrooms towels & bed linens were pretty old & worn out - There're cockroaches but no insect spray (even when asked at reception) It's a great apartment hotel with some minor issues that could be easily fixed.

I'll start with the customer service. They were great. Happy, very helpful and always ready to help. Very knowledgeable and they have some great ideas. Now the rooms... well they are nice but not that clean, and have lights hanging out of the ceiling. I did report the condition and was told that they would call maintance but it was a long weekend so not sure when anyone will come. The kitchen area in our rooms were covered in oil, and areas were not cleaned down. We needed to clean up before we could use the area. The location is okay and is close to the beach and other nice restaurants. It has a sorta sports bar and pool, but on the occasions we visited the bar, the barman didn't know how to do the cocktails and was limited to only what was in the taps and bottles.

Old run down place. Not well maintained. The room is smelly and there is mold in the bathroom. Staff barely speaks English and is neither friendly nor helpful. They couldn't find our booking at first. Took them at least 20 minutes to figure things out. Don't stay there, it's not worth the money!!
