Fantastic place! Family owned and the family is wonderful. The hotel is cozy and set on beautiful grounds. The food is good and the hospitality is fantastic. This is a place of beauty and serenity, overlooked by the maddening hordes of tourists, where you can develop real friendships.
Relais del Lago is a charming, family-run country hotel with gorgeous views over the Tuscan countryside. It’s only a short drive from Lucca but feels a world away from the tourist hustle and bustle. (It’s also only 40 minutes from Pisa airport.) The swimming pool is as enticing as it appears in the photos and the grounds are full of birdlife. We stayed in the spa suite which has its own sauna and jacuzzi, and a terrace overlooking the pool. We had a late flight so the owners let us use another room for a very reasonable day rate. There’s a very good Japanese/Italian restaurant on site. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.
