Second time staying at River Beach, it’s a quieter location than the old town and close to the beach, the staff here are very friendly and helpful and there is a few shuttle bus to get to the main part of Hoi An. The pool area and grounds are stunning and this time I had an amazing room with a view of the river. Had a really relaxing time here and look forward to visiting again. Thank you Anna and Lily, you made my second stay here extra special! I felt like a VIP!

The hotel was in a great location, really close to the beach and just off a main road. Very easy to find your way around the local area. The majority of staff were lovely and friendly, the guy in the restaurant each day (I didn't get his name) was great, very funny and engaging with us. This may have been for us to purchase drinks from the hotel and not the other bar on site (you are told this doesn't belong to them on arrival), but his attention was welcomed nevertheless. The rooms were always cleaned to a high standard. The free shuttle bus service into town was great, maybe could run a little more often however they are really accommodating to your needs if you ask them. The reception area is spacious and quite pretty, which leads out to a beautiful garden, small pool, pagoda bridge and lovely view of the river. Unfortunately this is where the positives end 😔 The rooms are very dated, old TV that had a shocking picture, hard lumpy bed where mattress springs were nearly through - both were reported, nothing came of the TV, but the bed had a topper added which didn't really help. The shower leaks onto the floor beside the toilet when used, this is likely due to just having the hand held shower. The bathroom is tired, old looking materials and fixes added to cracks and gaps which is very obvious. An old yellowish material shower curtain which is far too long for the bath and gets trapped in the plug, therefore takes ages for the shower water to drain. The bed in room 325 was not online with the back headboard and side tables (compared to 2 other rooms) this appears that there is something behind the bed/on the blackboard they were wanting to hide. If you have trouble sleeping for light/noise then I would say contact the hotel ahead of time. Our rooms were right outside the lift, housekeeping was so noisy from early hours, other guests coming, going and banging the heavy ill fitting room doors. The net and light blue curtain is useless for keeping out any light, they don't fit well, and both the balcony and main door don't fit the frame adequately. There were 4 hangers, for 2 people staying 2 weeks this wasn't really great at all. A safe and mini fridge were in the rooms too which was good. The restaurant was ok, breakfast had quite a limited choice compared to the other places we had been. Not enough cups for tea/coffee on some occasions. For lunch/evening meals, the food was ok but I would recommend the restaurants in the local area first. The pool area is a disappointment. I can imagine not many people go to Vietnam to sit round a pool all day, however this was our 3rd place to visit and an area we wanted to relax in for 7 days after a packed 7 days being a typical tourist. There are two parasols for around 10 sun loungers - sound an ok ratio, however the area could easily have accommodated more loungers. We were forced to the beach on 2 of the 3 days we wanted to stay around the hotel relaxing. There is a grassy area which could have some double cabana type beds added, which would enhance the area and not take away the river view. The check out process is hectic to say the best! They have papers with room numbers on and staff ticking you off then having to manually add up any costs added to your room - would have thought they would have done this ready for the morning check out. During my stay there were lots of checking out at the same time, the hotel would have been aware of this and could have planned so much better. My final dissatisfaction is the hotel itself. Areas you weren't allowed to go in but these weren't marked, so when we went looking for the gym we were scolded for looking in areas we shouldn't - if you aren't told or there are no signs how are you to know? That then leads onto the gym - closed for refurb but again we weren't told this on arrival. It's a shame as the hotel has the potential to be amazing. I would say if this had been a 3 night stay, I would have had less to grumble about as it's not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but 7 nights were hard. Some lovely photos attached.

The place at the beginning looked fine but... We found a cockroach in the room from the very first night! We immediately packed our things and moved to another hotel... Fortunately we were given our money back.
