Royal Hotel Carlton

We had an amazing stay at this hotel in Bologna! The location is perfect—just a 15-minute walk to the charming Old Town, with plenty of great restaurants nearby and easy access to everything on foot. The hotel is also conveniently less than 10 minutes from the train and bus stations, which was a huge plus. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. We were thoroughly impressed with the comfort and service provided. If we return to Bologna, we’d choose this hotel again without hesitation. Highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm, attentive service. It's clear that this is a hotel that prides itself on genuine hospitality — a true hallmark of traditional Italian service. The hotel itself is a beautiful example of classic old-school Italian elegance. The interior and exterior both exude timeless charm, with tasteful, traditional styling that makes you feel like you're stepping into a refined era of hospitality. Everything is impeccably maintained, and the atmosphere is both luxurious and comforting. Our room was spotless and well-appointed, offering all the modern amenities we needed while preserving that classic charm (other than an ironing board or iron). The hotel is very clean throughout, and the attention to detail was evident in every corner. Part of our rate included the excellent breakfast — a generous spread with plenty of delicious options to suit every taste. The onsite restaurant was also a standout, offering authentic Italian dishes that were both beautifully presented and full of flavour. Another huge plus was the easy, secure parking available at €25 per day — a fair price for the convenience, especially in a city like Bologna. The location of the hotel is also ideal: central enough to explore the city easily, yet just far enough from the busiest areas to enjoy some peace and quiet. Overall, the Royal Carlton is a wonderful blend of classic style, top-notch service, and comfort. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Bologna with a touch of elegance and old-world charm.

1st time in Bologna and in this hotel ! Location is perfect (approx 8min walk from train station) ! Welcoming was nice ! The room is with all comfort needed ! Breakfast with lot of choices ! Hot and cold (lot of cakes). Gym and spa are also excellent ! At the end, we were very pleased with our stay and highly recommended
