We stayed at this resort for our honeymoon and overall had a really nice time. The food selection was massive—something for everyone—and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The resort itself is well-kept, clean, and gives off a calm, organized vibe. That said, there were a few things that took away from the experience. We had a power outage during our stay, the telephone in our room didn’t work, and the A/C struggled quite a bit in the heat. Also, there’s no designated spot for wet swimwear, which would’ve been handy. One important tip: bring cash. We learned the hard way that there’s a 5% charge for card payments and the nearest ATM run isn’t ideal. All in all, it was a beautiful setting and a memorable honeymoon, just with a few bumps along the way. Would recommend—just go in prepared!
The hotel property is simply amazing & picturesque! But what stands out the most is the hospitality. The people, the staff - the team at Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort. Not only are they joyful & happy in disposition, they go that extra mile to make your stay memorable. Thank you for celebrating my son's birthday and for taking care of us so well. It's unfortunate, the grounds and facilities are very nice, the rooms are spacious and mostly up to date, but the service is 3rd world. Unless you are will to accept ineptitude at every level, I suggest going somewhere else. Bars not properly stocked even with the ingredients of the standard cocktails, being told to go to the front desk to request an additional towel card when you want a towel to lie on and another to dry off, staff that does not write down orders and consistently brings the wrong items, taking hand towels and never replacing them, a coffee bar that doesn't open until 10am but you can't get coffee or tea to go!, dart board with 1 dart, pool table missing two balls, the list goes on. Combine this with a beach where you will be constantly harassed by local peddlers, I won't be back.
