We had a great experience at Salam Baku Hotel. It's conveniently located on Nizami Street, right in the heart of the city. Our room had a lovely view, and the location was perfect for exploring Baku. The breakfast was nice, and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend!
Very disappointing experience - Stay Away We had a very disappointing experience with SBH hotel. We had booked a room for 5 nights through Booking.com with a confirmed reservation. However, upon our arrival, we were told to CANCEL our booking through the platform without giving any explanation. When we refused cancel the reservation, and asked for our room the receptionist showed a different room than the one we had originally reserved. When we declined the room, they simply said they didn't want us staying there and asked us to leave. This unexpected situation made us feel very uncomfortable and untrustworthy of the hotel. Eventually, we had to leave and wander around with our luggage, searching for alternative accommodation at the last minute. Unprofessional, misleading, and unacceptable treatment. We had trusted the booking confirmation and were left stranded in an unfamiliar city. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
Very disappointing experience - Stay Away. I had booked a 5-night stay through Booking.com with a confirmed reservation. I had seen some reviews mentioning that the hotel asks guests to cancel upon arrival, so I contacted Booking in advance, and they reassured me that everything was fine. A day before my arrival, the hotel contacted me via WhatsApp (not through Booking), asking what time I would check in. I replied, and everything seemed okay. However, as soon as I arrived, they asked me to cancel the reservation — without giving any explanation. I refused, especially since a cancellation fee would apply. They then showed me a room that was nothing like the one in the booking photos. The pictures are clearly misleading. When I declined the room, they simply said they didn't want me staying there and asked me to leave. I even contacted Booking and the local police due to their behavior. I had to book another hotel last minute. Unprofessional, misleading, and unacceptable treatment. Please, trust this review and avoid booking this property at all costs. You may save yourself from a very stressful and unpleasant experience.
