San Carlos Plaza Hotel & Resort

Great location. The hotel itself is a little older so don’t expect perfection but it’s outdoors that really makes this hotel shine. There are several different pools for children and adults. So many different seating/ lounging areas. There is something for everyone. Whether you want shade, sun, or a built in water lounge in the pool. The restaurant overlooks the ocean. Food and drinks were wonderful. Staff were amazing. The beach is lovely with the softest sand. And the sunset is so beautiful it makes you want to cry. Very family friendly but also great for adults! Make sure to visit the spa for a massage followed by the sauna, a steam room, a cool rain shower, and a relaxing glass of wine. Dinner options are limited at the hotel but there are fabulous restaurants just minutes away.

Location of hotel was great but the hotel its self needs a lot of maintenance , our room was very out dated. The AC wasn’t working properly, and our bed sheets felt damped, had a weird smell. Also the employees working at the Kiosko restaurant were really rude. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again for the price we paid.

A beautiful location on a sandy beach, but the hotel is dated, with many areas in need of updating. The pools were heated, but the hot tub only worked our first night, and was cold after that. Hot water in the room took 5-10 minutes to get hot. No heat with night temperature 10c so the room was cold. Good things: wonderful walks on sandy beach, very quiet at night, beautiful views from every room. Tostadas at sunset in the restaurant were tasty and fresh.
