One of my favorite hotels in Egypt!!! I love everything about the SETI I Abu Simbel Hotel. The location is so close to the Abu Simbel temples, and the hotel setting can only be described as picturesque, as it overlooks beautiful Lake Nassau. The rooms are colorful, clean, and well appointed. The pools are wonderfully refreshing with serene and ample poolside seating. The food is tasty and plentiful, and the staff is personable and exceedingly helpful. I stay there every year!!!

This is definitely a Five star resort by Egyptian standards. Was pleasant temperature at the end of February. Expect it to be hot at other times.

Really, really disappointed with this place. We booked it as its so close to the temples over six months ago. The grounds are magnificent. Pool surrounds are sensational. The shame is if they served paying customers as well as they water the grass, it would be five stars easy. But alas. Waited 90 mins for a couple of cheeseburgers and cokes. One of our group of seven waited 25min more for some springrolls to arrive. I think they went to China to buy them and got the slow boat back. Been in Egypt for 28 days today, having a blast. This is our third trip to Egypt and Abu Simbel over 20 years. This was the most expensive and least useful place of the whole trip. WiFi is crap. Hardly works at pool and reception. Not in rooms either. TV sucks. At the end of the day you just want to watch TV, drink coffee or have a wiskey or two and upload your piccies to OneDrive just incase you lose your phone. Final insult was dragging our bags across the uneven ground from the far side to reception. Wife needs kidney transplant, this is our last trip before it happens. Daughter disabled and I have a spine deformity. Went past numerous staff who didnt offer to help as I dragged three check in bags and a sleep machine and girls pulled three cabin bags over cobbled pathways with no ramps to reception. But they dont mind adding a service charge to everything. Food was very bland, had little diversification and was expensive. A latte or cappacino is freeze dried instant crap in luke warm milk. Learning to use an expresso machine is not rock surgery. Unless you really really want to stay close to temples, think twice about here. Try further in town. Its a fascinating place to walk around and the locals were fantastic. Our memories are of the town and those smiles and laughs with the locals buying stuff at their shops, not a crappy motel. Manager chucked together come drinks and rolls as we left but sad effort at understanding our complaints. This place really needs to try harder at service and not so much at nice green well kept grass.
