Shangri La Bosphorus Istanbul

We had a wonderful stay at the Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul. The hotel was exceptionally clean, very well organized, and the entire staff was simply outstanding. Housekeeping kept our room spotless every day, and their attention to detail truly stood out. On my birthday, the hotel surprised me with a beautiful cake in the room, balloons, and a handwritten card with heartfelt congratulations — a truly thoughtful and memorable gesture. I would especially like to highlight Yagiz Ucal ( Concierge ) and Serkan, who were our main points of contact during the stay. They went above and beyond — helping us with everything from concert tickets to organizing an electric wheelchair. Always with a smile, always kind and attentive — their support was exceptional and made our experience even more special. This is a solid 4.5-star review from us. The only area where the hotel didn’t quite meet the 5-star mark was the dining. Both restaurants are beautifully presented and the service is impeccable, but the food, unfortunately, did not match the high standards set by the rest of the hotel. The Chinese restaurant looked stunning and service was flawless, but the dishes lacked authentic flavor. The restaurant upstairs, which offers Turkish, Asian, and international cuisine, was again very well run, but the taste of the food didn’t live up to the quality expected in a hotel of this class.

Shangri-La is always a reliable hotel chain and the Istanbul Bosphorus hotel is no exception. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The service everywhere in the hotel is friendly and welcoming and the hotel location is convenient for everything to see in the city. There's an excellent spa, gymn and indoor pool. Main drawback is the lack of outdoor space, especially when the summer temperatures hit 35C. The nearby Four Seasons is a better choice if this is important for you. The restaurant choices are a bit limited as well for a hotel of this standard but breakfast is excellent and with so many great dining options in Istanbul you're better off eating away from the hotel. Overall, a good choice and for the location and standard represents good value.

A truly lovely stay from start to finish. Its central location made exploring the city easy, though the lobby could use some improvement—it felt a bit plain and lacked the warmth or atmosphere you’d expect from such a well-regarded property. With a few added touches, it could better reflect the charm found elsewhere in the hotel.”
