**“There are hotels... and then there are spaces that hold a silence deeper than words. Shangri-La opened its doors like a memory I had forgotten. Though luxurious and refined, what touched me was not marble or gold — it was the ocean calling just beyond the glass. I came as a visitor, but I left changed. I met no one and yet I felt watched over. To the staff — your kindness didn’t go unnoticed. To the sea — you awakened something I thought was lost. This is not just a hotel. It’s a doorway. And for those who are still, it speaks.”**
I booked for two nights and specifically chose a king bed sea view room. When I arrived, all I could see from the room was mostly the parking lot with only a partial sea view! I called reception, and they told me all rooms have only partial sea views — so why pay extra if you basically get the same view as a city view room? The photos and descriptions online are misleading and not honest. Also, I was surprised (and a bit uncomfortable) to see a welcome message in the room with someone else’s name! Overall, very disappointed with the experience and lack of transparency.
I’ve stayed at this hotel in five different countries, and I’ve never had an experience as bad as this one. This was, without a doubt, the worst stay I’ve ever had. The room was dirty, dusty, and clearly not cleaned before our arrival. We reported the issue right away, but the staff were completely unhelpful. Instead of fixing the problem, they gave us a room four hours later that is almost the same and acted like it wasn’t a big deal. We ended up leaving completely unhappy, and they promised a refund within 14 days. Well, it’s now been over 3 weeks, and we’ve received nothing. No money, no update, no follow-up — just radio silence. I’m honestly disappointed in the poor management, bad rooms, and customer service that clearly doesn’t care.
