The place was all fun and cool in the rooms. I liked the fact there is a happy hour every day from 6 to 8 pm. The Happy Hour has some snacks and drinks of your choice. I liked this because sometimes you are full and just want a bite to hit the bed in the evening. Generally loved everything about the hotel with a good ambience and situated along the red sea shores.
I want to thank this hotel and specifically the restaurant. I brought a large group to this restaurant for lunch and the service we received was absolutely top notch. The food was amazing and the staff did an excellent job!!! I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely go back again.
We stayed twice at Sheraton Djibouti—10 nights in June and again 10 nights in July-August. Both stays were full of issues, mainly caused by a staff member named Mohammad. During our first stay, Mohammad tried to give us two rooms instead of one twin room that we had reserved. Despite showing proof of our booking and the price, he insisted we pay extra until we argued for 10 minutes. The room we received had a strong sewage smell, and despite repeated requests, we were kept there for 5 days before being moved. We ended up changing rooms three times due to toilet blockages and WiFi issues. On our second visit, we arrived around midnight exhausted, but again Mohammad refused check-in unless we paid the full amount upfront. We asked to pay in the morning, but he insisted. Later we realized he had again altered the booking—this time charging us almost double. Thankfully, another staff member helped fix it and promised a refund. When we asked Mohammad, he dismissively said, “So what, they’ll refund you.” Breakfast is another major issue. The food is unappetizing, looks terrible, and tastes worse. The menu never changes. Hash browns are rock-hard, and the rare chicken option is poorly cooked. It feels like the hotel is cutting costs on purpose. That said, the restaurant staff like Miss Dahir and the omelette chef are kind and professional. We planned to stay here regularly, but due to the poor service, high prices, and dishonest staff, we will not return and will choose another hotel going forward.
