Shin Yuan Celeb Metro Hotel

Visited: December 2024 Pros: -Conveniently located power outlets and decently sized room -Desk suitable for working on a laptop -Clean -Close to Hsinchu train station, and just a few mins walk to Hsinchu market (which is itself quite interesting). Cons: -Breakfast only had Asian-style options (ie no eggs or other typical western breakfast food). -Room feels a bit dated. Neither of the cons was a big deal. Overall this hotel is good value and I’d stay here again.

Decent Location but Aging Facilities The hotel boasts a favorable location, making it convenient to explore the surroundings. Everything you need is easily accessible. However, I must mention that the room equipment is showing signs of wear and tear. The shower in my room was leaking, and despite notifying the staff multiple times and requesting repairs, it unfortunately never happened. Food is Japanese style since most of customers are Japanese. 3stars for 3stars hotel.

I have no idea why the reviews are so good for this place. Staff was condescending and unprofessional and the rooms were subpar for the price. Location was nice but I would have gladly traded location for a cleaner room with better air flow. FYI: I was booked into the “celeb metro” side rather than the “park” side across the street. but even if the “park” side is better, that’s not an excuse for the poor quality of my room since the price is the same and I wasn’t given a choice when I booked.
