This is a 300 year old hotel. The hotel feels like a home. If you want to experience traditional Japanese hotel. This is right place. The owner and servants are so warm. I really love the little handwriting notes card. Don't worry about the language, you can understand each other by heart. : ) The onsen is really good.
The dinner was simply delicious and the onsen- warm bath was clean and of the highest standard. The staff are super kind and friendly. If you wanna enjoy pure Japanese style hotel. This is the place to go. It's surreal experience. So beautifully Japanese!
Highly recommend this large but very comfortable ryokan. Very nice baths, including a cedar one. The evening meal was the highpoint, with courses mostly served one by one rather than everything at once, which can make dinner feel quite rushed. The crab was yummy, of course, but the duck meatball brown miso light stew was really inspired. Breakfast included French toast. Spacious rooms, a nice selection of yakuta and great service.
