Shogetsu Grand Hotel

We stayed at Shogetsu Grand Hotel in Jozankei and it was the perfect escape into nature. Our room was a traditional tatami-style room, which made the whole experience feel authentically Japanese. It was clean, spacious, and had a beautiful, peaceful view of the river and surrounding mountains. The onsen facilities were absolutely the highlight. The open-air bath was especially memorable—soaking in the hot spring while listening to the river below and watching the forest scenery was just magical. The indoor baths were lovely too, and everything was well-maintained. Staff were warm and welcoming, always ready to help, and they made the whole stay feel even more special with their thoughtful service. This hotel is all about slowing down and relaxing. If you’re looking for a scenic, quiet getaway with a proper Japanese ryokan experience and incredible onsen views, Shogetsu Grand Hotel is a fantastic choice. We’d gladly come back again.

Very nice hotel and onsen. We went there on early June. There wasn't many people, the onsen is mostly empty. The included dinner and breakfast taste good and big portion especially for kids. The kids meal has all kind of food and there will be something that a kid will like. Big room (50+sqm) suitable for typical 2+2 family.

20241022-Excellent modern hotel, with an exceptionally pleasant lounge, with self-service free coffee and tea, choices of honey on crackers, beer at 5pm, dessert at 7pm, noodles at 9pm. There is a fireplace in the lounge with a music corner, and it has a great view. The breakfast was excellent too. Enjoyed it! We enjoyed our stay and I felt that the management loves the customers and makes great effort to provide pleasant stay and great memories! It was very nice! I look forward to visit again! Driving?
