Side Square Hotel

The floor in the hotel room was obviously not washed upon arrival. The first time it was washed only after 4 days, but it seems that all the rooms are washed with the same rag and ours was the last one room. I used one towel to wash the floor because i cannot live in that mess. There is a lack of basic hygiene when washing the rooms. During your stay, only beds will be made and shampoos will be provided for the first few days. Pillows are with tubers or cotton bubbles inside. Time to reniew it. In the hotel every day there was one or another small child who was screaming and crying. A hotel without children - therefore it must be strictly forbidden for any children to appear there. And the worst thing is that next to our room lives a Turkish man with no legs, who always smokes with the door open and all the rooms and corridors stink and smells cigarette smoke. He may be the father of some owners, I don't know, but he lives here. I came to have the perfect vacation, but unfortunately I live surrounded by smokers, children and clutter. The hotel beach is damn far - more than 2 km. I rated it not 1 star only because of the nice staff. There is nothing to see around, no attractions. Rooms: The pillow covers have holes, the balcony is not washed, the chairs are dusty and you won't sit down. Bed linen is not changed during the entire stay. The floor is not washed, the dust is not cleaned. Activities nearby: There is nothing special around. Food and drink: Every day the food got simpler. When Sunday came, there was no variety at all, only a few desserts

Rubbish , man at reception rude and not helpful at all , food is lowest quality,not much choice of food , don’t waste your money , not happy at all, never go back to this hotel, and i don’t recommend, there’s no alcohol at the beach bar , they run out of Vodka at the main bar , this is cannot be 4 star hotel , they ask me to pay for twin bed room , my booking already included choice of twin or double bed they have twin bed room available but they ask extra €10 per person per night , plus not a place for a young or mid age person they mostly over 60yrs old

I guess the first thing I'll address is the room standards. When we checked in, we were told we were in the new building but then saw the two staff laughing to each other when they said it. And Safe to say, I believe the pictures speak for themselves as to standards for their "new" building. Toilet seats falling off, toilet roll holder broken, holes in towels, cupboards falling off, skirting boards unfinished, shower drain not finished and dangerously sharp, marks/dents on walls, walkway too small to move around in, stained singular pillows, etc etc. Unfortunately, whilst the cleaners do tidy your room, and change your towels, they don't change your bedding...so I worry they also don't change bedding between guests every time. Whilst walking around the main hotel, peaking into the rooms showed us a much higher standard which we believe is representative of their star rating and other decent reviews. We hope this isn't the case, but other reviews speak to this, it may be a case of put the english in the worst rooms. Upon complaining of the standards, they checked our room, took photos and left unapologetically. Finally, while the beach is great, be careful of the bus times as they came/left early without warning, even though we were there before scheduled time. Meaning we had to walk 30 minutes back in the midday heat. However! *Some* of the staff do try their best and are lovely, so there is that at least. Just a shame about how upper management ruin their efforts. UPDATE: They said come back 2 days later to see if we can change rooms and that he'll write a note about it. No note was written and they won't move us to a different room :(
