Our stay at Skybay was fantastic. The location is amazing and very conveniently located right across from the beach. The beach is beautiful and clean. The service was also very pleasant and everyone was friendly. The view from the fitness center and pool is 10/10. Breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!
We stayed at an older hotel in Seoul and it was nice to stay here at the Skybay Hotel. It’s nice to have a shower with a door so that the floor doesn’t get wet like some older hotels. The location so great as it is right on the beach and if you walk in either direction there are restaurants and convenience stores. The facility also had a small laundry mat, 5,000 won, credit card only, for wash and dryer each, but was worth it for the convenience. The pool on the rooftop is extra, but that does allow for it to be less crowded. We ordered burgers and teriyaki bowls and the price ranged from 12,000 to 14,000 including a soda, which is not bad compared to the states. We paid a bit more for an ocean view room and it was nice looking out at the East Sea. Beware of small bugs entering your room even if you keep the screen door closed and the glass door open. As a family of five, we had to get adjoining rooms with a twin bed and double bed in each room. The only downside is you have to take a taxi to go into town. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and gladly return if I came back to the area.
I’ve read other similar reviews and felt exactly the same. The lobby is so nice, however when you come to the room it is very small, there are dents in the furniture and flooring everywhere and furniture needs to be updated. As well as the balcony was not clean at all, dead bugs and dirt, and no chairs. You have to pay extra for everything as well(basic amenities, food, pool) and for over 400 won per night I expected so much more. There are so many nicer places for less money. The location and view are great and I will make my time here worth it but I’m really disappointed at what was advertised.
