Did a 2 hour ride, it was fantastic. I am a total beginner, and my partner is an experienced horse rider. We both had fun. I can imagine larger groups might not be as well catered to your needs, but I guess that could be said about anything. I got to ride Tin Mine and my partner was on Spirit. Both were great horses for our skill level and had fun personalities. 2 hours was perfect for me, I think I'd be sore as hell if we did much more, even at the gentle pace we went. I never felt endangered or unsafe, but I also felt like I was on a proper wilderness horse ride, not just a roller coaster. Shemaya was a fantastic guide, very nice, very patient, she seemed just as happy to just be out in the woods as we were. Highly recommend, but certainly don't get it twisted, this isn't your personal rodeo, and it's not for poodle pampered Arc'teryx wearing city moms. It's an experience with an appropriate amount of ruggedness balanced with a peaceful environment.
I'd give it one star to keep it a secret if the cat wasn't already out of the bag. All I ask (aside from time with a horse of Dot's recommendation) is that a mud-map is sent to all who enquire or at least all who book and provide a mobile phone number... Not that I'll forget the way, but with thought for future new guests.
Accomodation was wonderful. The property is wonderful, the horses are wonderful, the only downside is Justin the owner and unfortunately was our guide today. He has the customer service skills of a wet fish. Very rude and belittling. Certainly made everyone feel uncomfortable. The ride itself was great, it was just let down by random stopping and just sitting there in the blaring sun, I get the horses need a rest but at least stop in the shade. The other guide Samiya was lovely and so was Delia. The overall experience could have been wonderful under a different guide. Although we did appreciate getting separated at the end so we could have a canter. Thanks
