This a small facility. It’s is new construction and in great shape. It has economy rooms without a view, it has mid range rooms with great town and ocean views, and two very large suites with large patios and an outside hot tub overlooking the mangroves. The hotel is basic, but the rooms are very clean, have excellent HVAC, and the hotel is quiet, subject to the outside noise of Mexico. The linen is the best I have ever slept in. The duvet is a nice touch. The small rooftop area has a wading pool on one side and a patio with a great view of the sun setting over the mangrove. This hotel is a place to sit down, take a breath, and enjoy the peace that overwhelms you in Puerto Morelos. They have a very small and stable staff. Jose is the hardest working manager I have ever seen, and his assistant Luis doesn’t miss a beat either. The front desk is exceptionally handled by Bianca and Carla.
I am very happy with our stay here. Front desk is very friendly and the location is excellent. It had the feel that they updated everything on a low budget. They did a decent job but the furniture still seems dated. My biggest complaint was noise. I could hear every word people were saying when they were in the hallways, the echo was really loud due to the concrete. But it does have an elevator to take your bags which is really nice. Bed is super hard but linens are nice and room was very clean.
Rooms are basic. Hallways are loud and have an echo so you hear doors slamming all the time, talking, etcetera. Hot water is good. Water pressure is good. Air conditioning satisfactory. Rooftop patio is lovely, however very loud at times especially if you are in the rooms facing the sea. A band plays 70's rock at a nearby bar and it is very loud until 11ish; the band isn't good, which makes it worse. My biggest complaint is the wifi, which I needed for work, and which was poor, especially in light of the high quality available in the area. I would not stay here again. I prefer the places just outside of the downtown core as they are only another few minutes away and are quieter.
