Sol Cayo Santa María

Second rime here, love this place! Beach is the best, staff is friendly, always ready to please. Ronaldo the entertainer rocks! Ricardo mixes the best drinks at the beach. To name just a few! Highly recomend.

The location and rooms and excellent. As usual the Cuba staff are amazing Food - very plain, ran out if bread, never had bacon and even ran out of coffee beans and sugar! Entertainment - very basic - did a fashion show 3 days out of 7. The best reason to go is to help the people of Cuba! Unless you are there for the naked beach - stay somewhere else I only rated it a 3 because I love the Cuban people.

This is a honest review of Sol, Main pool was dirty and low on water, 2nd pool was also dirty and low water, the 3rd pool was the worst of all with only 2 ft of water in it and dirty. All 3 pools had green alge in them. The DJ is loud and obnoxious. My room was modern and clean for the most part. Except the bathroom shower which had mold at the bottom. Ac was great, bed comfort was ok but hard. The grounds are run down and lacking maintenance. With some elbow grease this place could be awesome. The food was mediocre with little options. The lounge chairs by the pool and on the beach are mainly ripped and broken. There's a clothing optional beach which is separate from main beach. We spent 3 days without hot water. Overall this place is poorly mismanaged. The staff are awesome and friendly and are doing the best they can with what they have.
