In January 8, 2025 We loved our stay at Sol Turquesa Beach. Special thanks to the wonderful Roberta and Mario! You made our 2 weeks with your smiles and great service. Thank you also for the service at the beach and what can I say about the great shows every night, it was very enjoyable. We will definitely come back to see you again! 😊 Thank you all!
They don't make resorts like this anymore. It is spread out over a lush natural landscape. The units are small 2 story units amongst lush greenery. There are 5 pools on different levels each below the other with cascading waterfalls joining the main 3. There is a buffet and then several other available options for dining. The buffet has lots of variety. Entertainment every night though it is not of the greatest quality. Can be fun though. We had a huge BBQ feast in an outside courtyard one night which had a lovely singer and then dancers. There is a long sandy beach and lovely clear blue and turquoise water. The water is beautiful and warm. There can be a lot of sea weed but they are looking into clearing that. There are water activities including catamarans, beach chairs, pool bar and natural shade umbrellas. Everything was clean though the resort is somewhat older. That is it's elegant charm and it is well kept and clean. There are lots of things to do offsite too. I could go on and on but let's get to the point. This resort could hold 1,500 people but there were less than 100 people there. Cuba is hurting. Yes they sometimes have shortages etc but nothing that greatly affects the quality of your stay. The staff was amazing including the food and beverage manager. Many of the staff have been there for 20 years or so.They were cheerful and happy to go out of there way to assist you in any way they can. The food was fresh and good. The coffee amazing. Because the resort was far from it's capacity there was no fighting over pool chairs or lounges at the beach. You also got to know most of the guest there so it was quite a friendly and relaxing experience amidst this elegant lush backdrop of coconut trees and manicured tropical forest. Yes I would go back and yes I would recommend as long as you understand you are in Cuba and it is a 3rd world country. You will be safe and well looked after in your own elegant almost private resort. This resort deserves to thrive.
Since they only reopened 14 months ago, the occupancy rate is low resulting in less variety of food and no activities with good but limited entertainment. Note that there are lots of stairs if you want to go anywhere on the resort. The lighting is poor at night also. The cement around the pool has lost It's coating thereby making it tough on bare feet! The beach is nice but swimming is non-existent because of rocky bottoms and vegetation. The internet was good. The staff kept bottles of water stocked in our room's refrigerator. Several times there wasn't enough water pressure to flush the toilets for an hour or so. The power went out several times for very short periods also. There seem to be about 20 tennis courts of which only one was mostly playable. Four to six men worked on the one court the whole week. Not a lot seem to be getting accomplished. The staff is wonderful and we really enjoyed our vacation! We were there with our 2 children and their spouses.
