Clean, comfortable, large rooms with seaview. Very nice and helpful staff. 2 nice restaurants, nice pool. Bathroom would need a bit of refurbishing, especially the shower. Likewise, there is no lift and the wooden staircase has seen better days. Should be cleaned and repainted. Perfect location.

Disappointing Internet Charges Overshadowed Our Stay We stayed twice at the Solomon Kitano Mendana Hotel in Honiara. While the rooms were generally fine (albeit overpriced) and the staff was friendly, we were extremely disappointed by the internet policy. We were charged over 2,000 SBD for “extra” internet usage, which we’re confident we did not use over three days. As professionals who work globally, we rely on stable internet to handle basic work tasks like emails—and we’ve never encountered such excessive charges anywhere else. The included connection was very slow, and we assumed a hotel catering to business travelers would provide decent connectivity without hidden costs. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured we won’t return. It’s a shame to lose customers over something as basic as fair and transparent internet access.

Be prepared to wait 2.5 hrs for every meal. Staff on phones and don’t engage when you follow up on where things are at. Took 1hr for a fruit platter to come out. Also be prepared for the juice machine to be broken every night but work during the day. Honestly slowest service ever. Important factor - 1 of two diners in the restaurant the entire night
