Sonesta Hotel Cali

I have traveled to many places and stayed in 5 star hotels in Singapore to a dump in Henrietta, NY. The Sonesta was a lot of bang for the buck. The service was excellent. The room is clean but tight for 2 friends the shower hot but not used to not flushing used toilet paper. It clogged the toilet. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The variety and taste varied and awesome. Unlike the American national brands. That put out the same things everyday. The on site restaurant was hit and missed. The tuna was excellent, and other things were not to my taste. But there are other excellent restaurants nearby. Club Columbia was very good, but if you are on a very tight budget, there is one only open for lunch that locals go to. Didn't catch the name, but their patio is surrounded by metal bars. Lunch, including water, was less than $4. I will probably be going back to Cali for more dental work. Definitely would stay in Sonesta again.

The hotel is just out side of the city center so everything is easily accessible. The employees are super friendly, polite and willing to help. The rooms are a bit dated but being upgraded so that's a good thing. The pool is tiny and the deck area needs to be refurbished. The bar is small but the young man working there is super friendly. The restaurant needs to do better with the food, the food is average at best and the menu is all over the place, a bit strange. With that being said, I would recommend this hotel.

Absolutely no regard for separating rooms from where they are doing construction. For 2 days now I have been trying to have meetings in my room, but there is terrible drilling above my room. Common sense would tell management not to put clients in rooms directly under a construction zone. I even have my entire group from my tour agency here. I will be sure they all leave reviews about this as well...
