SORO Montevideo Curio Collection by Hilton

This is a lovely hotel. It is a boutique style. Not lots of rooms but the service is great. The rooms were very clean. Loved the bathroom and they gave us robes! Hahha. The restaurant wasn’t available because they were hosting a birthday party but the food they were serving for the birthday looked great. The weight room was perfect. It’s located very close to lots of stuff, specifically the beach. If I was traveling with little kids I would have appreciated its location to the park with a playground, which is right across the street. Coffee shops, groceries and the mall are near.

The hotel itself is modern, clean, and comfortable. The service is, however, is inconsistent. My pre-arrival bedding requests were acknowledged but not honored. The young man who works the evening/night shift (Alejandro?) is friendly and eager to help, yet some of the information he provided turned out not to be accurate. On the second day of my stay, I got a call from the front desk that started with: "What's your name?" I replied that he should know my name as he was calling my room. He then hung up... The location is by the beach but view of beach from the room is limited: if you are in the 01 and 02, you'd get partial view, 04 gets no view of the beach at all. The hotel is situated in a nice, mostly residential, neighborhood. There are no tourist sites nearby, but I chose this location because I didn't want to be in the old town or Centro: most tourist sites are there, but those areas are a bit run down.

A new build hotel. Staff is polite. Gym is decent. Had a hot tub, but takes a while to heat up. Breakfast is well done. Safe area and quite. Right next to the beech. Recommended. Price is likely pretty good for travelers to Montevideo .
