Speke Resort & Conference Centre

We spent 3 nights at the Speke Resort. It was so tranquil & peaceful. The staff were so accommodating & nothing seemed to be a problem (hakuna matata). The food was delicious and the cocktails were to die for. I will definitely stay for longer when I return to Uganda 🇺🇬

We had such a wonderful experience at Speke Resort in Kampala. We went for a boating tour on Lake Victoria, and it was absolutely amazing — the lake was so clean, expansive, and peaceful. There are a variety of boat options to choose from depending on your preference. We chose the canoe, as it brought us closer to the water’s surface and made the experience feel more connected to nature. The lake is truly vast, and the bay area built by the resort is beautifully maintained. It was a lovely cloudy day, adding a calm and serene vibe to the whole outing. Along the way, we spotted a few birds, which made the ride even more special. The resort also has charming walking paths and hangout areas along the lake, complete with benches where you can sit and soak in the view — and that’s all free to access. We came for boating and lunch, but you can easily spend time just strolling around. We even saw some beautiful horses on the grounds — horse riding is available too, which adds a nice touch of leisure and charm. The lookout from the resort to the lake is breathtaking, especially around sunset. There’s a pool for residents and a lovely restaurant that’s open to all. The menu has a wide variety of options, including great choices for vegetarians. We tried the pasta — not particularly traditional, but still creamy and delicious. The desserts were the real treat — beautifully presented and full of flavour. All in all, it’s a perfect place for a relaxed day out, whether you’re looking for adventure, nature, or just good food in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!

Do better!!!! I called to book for 3 days. I was told they couldn't take a phone booking. I should send an email. Sent an email 5 hours later no booking reservation response. Call back again. Kept on waiting to reservation for close to 2 minutes. Well reservations not available. I ask the reception if she could ask them to call me back or respond to my email. She boldly tells me to instead take a number to call them since they may not call me back ! How professional.
