Ouarzazate maybe the door of the desert and attract a lot of tourists but it's still a fairly small town and hotel choices are limited. If you're expecting a 5-star hotel from the name and advertising, you should temper your expectations. While we're talking about the name, I did not spot the golf course either. This hotel is well out of Ouarzazate. If you're traveling with a car of your own, this is fine. If you're using taxis be aware that petit taxis may not be willing to drive you all the way out to this hotel. While the grounds, the pool and the look of the restaurant is gorgeous, the rooms themselves are fairly budget. The rooms are quite dark and beds are very firm to the point of being uncomfortable. The bathroom is a bit more decent with a small bathtub. The restaurant was quite cute and an excellent spot to see the sunset. The food isn't spectacular but it's good and served in healthy portions. Like everywhere else we experienced in Morocco, all the shortcomings of a place are made up for by the warmth and friendliness of the people. The hotel is staffed by a very small number of people who are alternately the receptionist, waiters, the bellboys etc. They were so helpful and eager to make your stay comfortable in whatever way possible that you end up overlooking everything else in the hotel.
1. Everything is very very run down, falling apart looking like its going to shut down 2. No golf, just a ruined mini golf and a broken down cement ping pong table 3. Expensive drinks, €7,50 for a beer 4. Ugly and uncomfortable room 5. The staff is nice and kind but the management is not up to par
Uncomfortable beds, no hot water on a December night! very fancy looking rooms, but not very usable bathrooms, dim lighting
