My husband and I have planned this trip for almost two years. I'm the prudent one. He likes to spend. Staying in an over the water bungalow had always been on his bucket list. We already had a place we were staying, but since it was so inexpensive ($680/week) we decided to see if we could get an over the water bungalow for two nights. Sofitel did not disappoint. I never thought it would be that big of a deal. The room was gorgeous!!!! Freshly remodeled. Big shower, tub, dual sinks, balcony, bottle of champagne, free drinks in the fridge. We were blown away. We had a very happy stay. Wish it was longer.

Very Friendly staff, my family felt in love with them. Wonderful atmosphere, on weekend locals are enjoying the beach and the dance festival. Thank so much To Patrick & Jean Philip for accommodating my special needs child and making my family very happy, we enjoyed all the tours and sightseeing recommendations. We definitely be back

Honestly, awful. We arrived here back from Moorea where we were staying at another Sofitel property. When we show up, there is a stage set up. Turns out the hotel was hosting a corporate event that night for 800 people... there was security everywhere limiting access to the pool and the beach. The main restaurant was closed leaving the options of the bar or the very expensive restaurant. At around 6pm the music started. We informed management that we had a 7am flight, requiring a 4am wake up. We were then informed that the music was scheduled to last until 1am. A live band an DJ played ALL NIGHT. Because the hotel enclosed a large open space where the stage was, it was impossible to escape the noise. Management did nothing to help. They offered us worse rooms (which we would have to pay for in addition since we had prepaid the rooms we selected) and nothing else. No refund, no price reduction, not even an apology. We checked out the other room but they all smelled like cigarettes. For a luxury hotel, choose to hotel a loud event like that is outrageous. We were extremely disappointed in the hotel's choice and reaction to it. We desperately wanted to leave but we would have had to pay another $300 elsewhere. This property was already not worth the price we were paying. To add insult to injury, now 3 weeks later, they are claiming that we did not check out properly and have charged us $400 for another night. Just an awful stay. I would not recommend this hotel at all.
