Takanosho

The staff gave me a warm welcome when I drove there. Although there is a little language barrier, they explained well about the facilities and services. The actual room exceeded my expectations. I booked the two story room (the seventh room if you checked their official website) It is spacious and has a great view outside. It also has a kotatsu in the living room. The meals are great. Didn't take a single picture of the room (guess I had spent too much time relaxing in the kotatsu with the tea they provided and the mandarin oranges I bought going there, and the indoor onsen), so the pic down there is the only picture taken from the bedroom.

Only classical Japanese hot spring hotel I have ever been to, but it was amazing. The Japanese hosts who took me there were also impressed, so likely a very good spot. Pictures of the cottage we shared with a private hot spring tub. Also meals. There was a men's and women's separate communal hot bath. All hot water baths are volcanic, not artificial​ heating. Shot of the surrounding country side, which is typically not so misty, but we were there during a typhoon. There is an active volcano near by. Also small frogs came it in the evening.

Nice room and delicious breakfast & dinner. Each room has a private onsen.
