Tango Mar Beachfront Boutique Hotel & Villas

Just got back. This place is a real gem. Most of all the owner Hilda is a mature lady from Belgium and embraces true European hospitality. At dinner each night she makes it a point to sit down with each and every guest to make sure their stay is going well and if it isn't she fixes it. Food at the resort is very good as well. The property has a White Lotus feeling to it as well.

The hotel is a bit older, we stayed in the Tiki’s so we were happy. Nice arrangement with flowers etc when we arrived. The owner is present and comes to welcome every table every day. The location is a but remote so if you book the Tiki and want to spent several days with our partner on a beautiful cost. This might be a place for you. Only drawback is that the hotel kitchen is not as good as I would expect and you have almost no other option as eating in the hotel.

The owner was delightful and you always knew when she was in the restaurant, as the service suddenly got much better. Staff were well meaning but there was an inconsistency in service. One evening we had the shared seafood platter, but the lobster was burnt and black, I tried to mention it but got nowhere. Breakfast was good, but a better bread selection would really help. Sliced factory white alone is not deluxe. The beers in the pool restaurant at lunch were warm two days running. We complained but got nowhere again. The food was poor and unimaginative and staff seemed slow to do anything. The room was spartan and colourless and had a clinical feel. A bit more colour would really improve it. The sea view was spectacular from the balcony, but we had to turn off the aircon, situated in the middle of the balcony, as it was noisy and hot. The hotel feels tired and needs an update and then could be really good. Swimming in the sea was wonderful if you are a strong swimmer.
