Tanoa Plaza Hotel

It has been one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The staff were friendly, and very helpful. The rooms were very clean our rooms were cleaned daily. The breakfast was nice. We are looking at staying at Tanoa during our next visit.

Clean room with no dust on Level 7 ,bathroom was free of mould. Had brightness in the room.Staff were really friendly and nice. Thank you Tanoa staff .

We planned a family event here for 13 May 2025 over a course of 12 months. I live in Australia so this had to be coordinated remotely. The event coordinator for this hotel is terrible with communication – you have to follow up repeatedly to get a response to your emails. They raised the prices on us a month before the event which was pretty poor on their part as we had a contract for an agreed price. For the event day, the event coordinator did not come to meet us to check if everything was Ok. There were two other events running at the hotel concurrently and the number of staff they had on the floor were not enough. The hire costs included water and mints on the table throughout the 4.5 hours that we hired the venue for – I had to chase the staff to have that on the table and to top up water. It was clear the staff were not briefed on what the service expectations were. Afternoon tea was supposed to have been served at 3pm, I had older people at my event who started to leave because they had to travel back home in poor weather. I chased down the staff repeatedly to serve the afternoon tea which did not arrive until nearly 4pm! The program was to have ended at 4pm. The Danish pastries were not enough for the numbers of people we had left and I strongly suspect the custard pie that we had paid for dessert at lunch was re-served to our guests when they ran out of pastries. Extremely disappointed with the service provided. I do not recommend Tanoa Plaza as an event venue.
