Really nice and beautiful place to stay in the city center. I liked a lot my view to the main square. The staff was friendly. And the breakfast was excellent.

Very nice hotel, friendly stuff, partly English speaking, very good breakfast buffet, pool, gym & sauna. The location is directly at the plaza and the rooms are quiet. Five minutes walk to the beach.

If you are sensitive to odors or expect a good meal service, this hotel is not for you. However, the establishment is conveniently located right in the center of the city (it does not have its own parking in the same building), is quite clean and the service is OK. Rooms are reasonably comfortable, everything in my room worked OK even there is no alarm clock, microwave or boiler, but there is a safe and mini-fridge in the closet. The hallways are rather dark and the infrastructure aging is noticeable, particularly in the bathrooms where a smell of drain runs through the ventilation pipes. There is a nice but narrow pool and very small gym with sauna at ground level. The windows of my room were stained with hand marks (probably from previous passengers), so I asked the reception staff the next morning to please clean them so that I could enjoy the view and take pictures of the beautiful view over the square from my room. However, the same window stains remained throughout all my stay so no action have been taken. The breakfast meal is OK and I particularly recommend the delicious whole bread (which apparently is one or two units for all the breakfast hours) and the "chumbeques" (typical cake of the area). There was only a 4-slice toaster for the entire restaurant and it didn't seem to work quite well. I would give two or three stars to Hotel Terrado Arturo Prat (compared to any hotel in a developed country).
