Terrazas del Sol Apart & Hotel

We were only there for a few hours, it is 5 minutes from the Argentina / Paraguay port. We were able to rest very well, get up, have breakfast and continue our journey. The complete breakfast really. Very good price/quality ratio

We stayed an extra night as one of us was unwell. We hardly left the room during our stay only for food. As we were packing to leave we discovered all our cash had been stolen from within the room, which was locked when we weren't in it. We reported it as soon as we discovered it. The room was searched by 2 staff members (as if we had hidden it somewhere!) The receptionist called the female owner whose attitude was dismissive and insulting. She told me, whilst smirking, that it 'hadn't happened'. I was flabbergasted. It had "never happened before", therefore we were lying. It has never happened to us in all our extensive travels, decades of staying in hotels all over the world. Perhaps, because of that, we were complacent - or trusting. We asked that they report it to the police, they claim they did. We left after about 2 hours of denials and waiting, having to write off a large sum of cash (£360) in 2 currencies. We had to find another Western Union to replace the stolen cash and also get to our next destination. The lovely people at the next place were appalled and apologetic - ironically more than the hotel staff. Reported it to Booking.com and messaged the hotel who replied saying they hoped we would "find the money in our luggage" denying accusing us of lying. The stay ended up costing more the 10x the cost of the room. Definitely not recommended.

Avoid, not what it seems. We had a lot of cash stolen from a locked room. Owners accused us of lying. Be very careful.
