The Cinema Suites

Location: 5 Stars Room: 5 Stars Hospitality: 5 Stars My wife and I spent the night in Te Anau at the Cinema Suites. This is the first place we have stayed at that made us feel like we were home. The space is large and beautiful, very comfy and cozy which is just what we needed after being away from home for some time. It's not often you can lay out on a couch and watch Netflix while being on holiday. The bottle of wine and fruit that the hostess provided was a nice touch. Breakfast next door at the Sandfly Cafe was wonderful. The food trailer behind the building served some great food. We were down the street from the Real Journeys center which we walked 5 mins from our room to. The Cinema Suites is pricier than just about everywhere in Te Anau, but well worth it. You get what you pay for, and having a night at home while being on a long holiday is priceless in my opinion. I hope to visit again the next time I am in town!

Plush and comfortable. Stocked with delicious treats and perfect for a night after a long tramp. That shower... like standing under a Fiordland waterfall. Magic.

I booked into the Cinema Suites as a special treat for my family during the school holidays, and made other arrangements around the availability of the accommodation. I had my booking confirmed. I then got called the next day about a double booking, but where the second booking had been made over the phone after my booking. The person I spoke to said she would speak to the owner and then came back to me, and reconfirmed our booking. The next day I got a third phone call, again talking about a double booking and the fact that they could not accommodate us. When I asked about the phone calls the previous day Sarah said (and I quote) "my colleague lied to you". Incredibly unprofessional, poor, disorganised, disappointing service. Do not believe a word they say.
