The George and Dragon Hotel

Booked direct with hotel, got a decent rate. Room was excellent. spacious with a good view. Ate in the restaurant in the evening- the food was delicious and generous portions. Beer prices reasonable. Decent car parking.

Definitely worth a visit for the food. I had a roast beef dinner. The portion was far too much for me and I felt awful leaving some, as I was enjoying it so much, but very full. No room for dessert which is a first for me!! Staff very friendly and a welcoming feel to the bar.

The hotel is set in central town, although only a small town. The bar and eating areas were pleasant enough. Food was ample and served in a reasonable time. The only let down was the room. Although reasonably clean the decor is very poor and dreary. Needs some colour in the room and some nice big pictures. Our room was in the old mill, and was a shame that there were no features to enhance this build only the old wooden beam in the ceiling. With a little thought could be a lovely room.
