Nice location overlooking the surrounding mountains and valley, nice concept for an eco resort, one huge issue: the place was filthy. We arrived in the late afternoon on a hot day and were brought by one staff to the room we had booked online, without being told that the AC was not working (due to a power cut off? who knows) and that there was no key to the room. We found two ashtrays filled with old cigarette butts on the outside patio of the room, which made us doubt that the room was ever cleaned at all. Couldn’t really check the room as it was too hot to stay in without the AC. While waiting for the electricity to hopefully come back, we reached the communal pool area and noticed empty bottles, full ashtrays and various trash scattered on the poolside, sun beds, etc. The pool itself looked filthy. Didn’t try to communicate with the staff as all previous attempts (on AC, keys) had been difficult with no common language. We didn’t feel it was healthy to stay longer, so decided to go look for another accomodation for the night, even if we had prepaid the room.

It may have been the tacky, gigantic zoomorphic statues at the entrance, but it felt like arriving at the village of Colonel Kurtz. The feeling was that of stepping out of civilization, entering an out-of-time world where humanity had lost its sense of decency and hygiene. When we arrived, there was no electricity. Probably not their fault, but shouldn’t they have mentioned it when we checked in? Reluctantly, they brought us to our room. Apparently, they don’t use keys. They didn’t tell us until we went back to reception to ask for one. Ashtrays in the room were full of cigarettes. A pervasive sense of filthiness. Without air conditioning, the room was too hot. We went to the common areas. Two ladies with half a bottle of whiskey and their little daughter drifting in the pool. Three staff drinking tea. Cigarette butts and empty bottles left around for such an ancient time that the pool could be turned into a decadence museum. I asked for a beer to see if some alcohol could help me change my point of view. It didn’t. We left some cash for the beers and looked for a different stay. It cost us €100 for half an hour of surrealism.

The hotel itself is not bad, on the contrary - it is unique, but the staff... My children and I arrived at 16:00, but the room was not completely ready. There were still towels on the floor, sunflower/pistachio shells on the table. They promised us that the room would be cleaned in 5 minutes. Well, it is clear that it definitely takes more time to clean everything, so we went to Ulupinar with the children to eat. Then we stopped by Yanartaş, and finally returned to the hotel around 21:00. And what do you think? Again the staff is looking at each other, because nothing is ready! Other people are already living in our house, and we have nowhere to sleep! The boy quickly came back, made the bed and let us into another room. And there, as is already clear, nothing had even been washed or tried to be cleaned.. Sand on the floor, hair in the sink and shower. We decided not to even go up to the second floor, because there is no air conditioning there and it is very dangerous due to the missing supports (I don't know what kind of accidents await them). When my daughter went to the toilet, it turned out that there was no toilet paper. I asked her to bring it. She said OK, in 5 minutes. Half an hour later I reminded her again, then some guy came slowly. I was already very angry! When we went to the shower, we found dirty (non-washable) towels, and the bedding was again stained. If they don't wash, maybe then it's better not to use them at all?? We didn't even wait for breakfast in the morning, because the constantly repeated "5 minutes" kept turning into something we don't understand. We left as soon as possible and regretted spending the money for a night there.. I'm not really a nag, but the disorganization or unwillingness of the staff really gets me off track. 10 points for the environment, -1 point for the staff 👎👎👎
