The Kings Head Bawburgh

Overnight stay for work. Lovely rooms, lovely people, lovely food. The surrounding area is very quiet and green. Service was fat and friendly, they even stayed late to welcome me. Food is a bit expensive, but very, very tasty.

Overall restaurant had a good vibe but was let down by sluggish service which was not consistently good. The fish and chips were pretty decent but the fish was average tasting. I had the ribeye steak and it wasn’t succulent how you’d expect a rib eye to be and the puréed sweet potato was so runny it tasted like baby food. We tried a few wines because we couldn’t find anything that great so had to trade up for one of their more expensive ones. The biggest let down was the ice cream which my partner couldn’t finish because she said it was a waste of calories. When I challenged it I was surprised to hear it was homemade. It was very bland and just tasted cheap.

Always great service from the ladies out in Zoe, kandi and Ella! Always very welcoming and very good banter! It’s a Real shame the loaded fries were removed from the menu just before Christmas and haven’t returned! I always pop in on a Wednesday evening after golf and never fancy a full meal, the loaded fries always hit the spot are were the best around! Chris
